WHAT IS THE BEST AGE TO TRAIN A DOG?

Dogs can learn at any age. They do so in the wild starting from weeks old with the mother and long into their lives. The best time to bring a dog to Stein-Way is at the beginning of your relationship so you learn how to communicate without any upset, but more than 65% of the dogs that come have been with their owners for a year or longer and the dogs are very able to change their old habits.

HOW MUCH FOLLOW UP SHOULD BE NECESSARY AFTER MY 1 VISIT?

For one week after the lesson, you will show the dog in your normal routine that what you taught here you will include in his own environment. Most people report that after 3 days of enforcement the dog is 75% improved and after a week, practice becomes unnecessary. Dogs settle into good behavior once the owner knows what to do.

HAVE THERE EVER BEEN DOGS THAT CANNOT BE TRAINED BY THIS METHOD?

Out of 10,000 dogs that have come to Stein-Way, less than 20 could not succeed in fixing the behavior problems. In most cases that is apparent in the first hour. In that case a $75.00 evaluation fee is charged rather than the full training fee. Please note that most people thought their dog fell into that category before they got here. Remember, people do not bring us dogs who already listen. Almost every dog owner that has felt frustrated with techniques tried at home or other training programs before coming for individual training.
